When charged with the Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately), the battery communicates with the charger to monitor current, voltage, and temperature during charging. This advanced charging technology helps optimize battery life and deliver a faster charge. This battery is only compatible with Star Protection tools, which are indicated by the Star Symbol and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool. Star Protection Computer Controls allow communication between the tool and battery to monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

Every Makita tool is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory. If you are not satisfied with any Makita tool within 30 days of purchase, return it and Makita will provide, at Makita's option, a replacement or refund. Each Makita tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of ONE YEAR from the date of original purchase. Should any trouble develop during the one-year period, return the COMPLETE tool, freight prepaid, to one of MakitaÂ’s Factory or Authorized Service Centers. If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at our option, replace) without charge. This warranty does not apply to Makita Accessories. In no event shall Makita be liable for (A) any indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential damages arising from the sale or use of the products sold hereunder, or (B) any amount in excess of the amount actually paid to Makita for the products sold hereunder for any liability arising from the sale or use of the products sold hereunder. This limitation applies both during and after the terms of the warranty. Makita disclaims liability for any implied warranties, including implied warranties of "Merchantability" and "Fitness for a specific purpose," after the one-year term of this warranty.
