This powerful tool from Makita runs on (2) 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries to deliver impressive, long-lasting power, speed, and runtime. This compound miter saw offers several features that improve its accuracy and efficiency, such as a unique 2-steel rail sliding system with a 4-3/4” fence. This allows for simple one-touch single slide-glide operation. Automatic Speed Change technology in the XSL06PT allows the tool to adjust the cutting speed and torque to meet the task for optimal results. A reduced footprint allows this dual-bevel sliding miter saw to operate when flush against a wall, saving users space. An on-board laser illuminates the cut line and allows users to more easily see when the blade is turning. An on-off switch allows for micro-adjustments for more precise cuts made slightly to the left or right of the blade. Speaking of precision, the saw features a linear ball bearing system and positive detent stops at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, 45, and 60° left or right. These features allow users to perform accurate cuts from any angle, including vertically nested crown molding, baseboards, crosscuts, and more. These high-capacity 5.0Ah batteries supply the miter saw with enough power to perform 334 cuts per charge in 2x4 materials, and up to 192 cuts per charge in 2x12 materials. The on-board LED fuel gauge keeps users informed of how much power remains on a charge. This battery and included dual-port battery charger are part of Makita’s Star Protection system, which means all components communicate via a microchip to ensure protection from overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating. The charger controls current, temperature, and voltage throughout the recharge cycle to prolong battery life. This fan-cooled charger is capable of refueling the BSL1850B in a category-leading 45 minutes, allowing users to get back to work faster. The included charger requires 120V 60hz input power and has the standard 2-prong North American plug.
