Product Overview
Knipex 72 01 160 diagonal flush cutter have been specially developed for plastics and other soft materials. The Knipex 72 01 160 is used in plastics production when, for example, plastic molded parts need to be mechanically separated from sprue after demolding. The cutting edges of 72 01 160 used for wire are ground to produce a wedge-shaped cut towards the center of the cut product. The diagonal cutters create a wedge that ultimately splits the cut material apart, and the wire ends separated have wedge-shaped cut surfaces. A flush, smooth cut is expected when separating molded parts and sprues, to create the least finishing work when deburring. The surface ground cutting faces permit the clean, flush disconnection of extruded plastic injection molds and sprues or sprue residues. The sprue is cut off directly on the molded part because the cutting edge runs parallel to the component. With Design in mind, the Knipex 72 01 160 diagonal flush cutter features an opening spring that saves an additional hand movement every time. The handles on the 72 01 160 are coated in plastic to help reduce user fatigue during use.
